My Car may be on TV today - Heavy picture and video content.

Thanks guys....it's appreciated.

The race is scheduled to come back to us in another 2 years and I hope we can get away from an Ally Pally themed vehicle next time as it is a bit limiting theme wise.

Good fun to build though and getting paid at the same time. :D

Oh no - I remember TVs like that :o

Not surprised you used the previous rolling chassis if it held up to that 'air' last time out - impressive work Jim

Great that your bosses give you the time and support for this work - nice one

Why aren't you driving it?

You should add a sixpence slot at the back (we had a rental TV when I was a kid. . . . always ran out at inappropriate times  )

:driving:

Thanks Paul.

The Rolling Chassis not completely unscathed from last time but a bit of heat and a bend on one of the axles and all good.

I subcontract at Ally Pally and have done for 25 years straight. I'm being TUPE'd over in November so will finally become a Palace employee.
The facilities manager who oversees our contract gave permission for me to build this for the Event Team. So have been building over the past month for my employees whilst still carrying out my essential Engineering duties.

I'm not driving it as once the build is completed I'll detach myself from it. Let someone else a bit younger and less wiser drive it. :)
If it comes back unscathed great. If it gets smashed then no problem either.

I remember the slot TV's :D I remember my Dad coming home in the late 60's pleased as punch with an ex-rental TV which actually received BBC2...................just as my mates Dads were bringing home the first Colour TV's. :D

Looks like great fun.
You should make the driver dress up in grey, make him look like a black and white tv image

Just a reminder that the race is today and highlights will be on "Dave" at 18.00.

I think our vehicle will suffer from little airtime the same as 2 years ago due to little "fun factor" in the design. I argued the case thoughout the build that we need "something" but it wasn't a priority for the Palace. The added dog, biscuit and teacup in front of the TV being the only concession.

Anyway I'm looking forward to the fantastic builds, crashes etc and was a real good show 2 years ago. I'm not attending the race as I've been consumed by the build on and off over the past couple of months and would rather not see it end up in a broken heap in the flesh. :D If it does make it down in one piece I'll be happy but won't lose any sleep if it doesn't.

Would really like a chance next time around to build something wild 'n wacky without an Ally Pally theme...who knows. :D

A couple of more pics I took when we went out for some publicity shots.
