MY car after wash, clay and polish

Had never clayed a car before (I'd never even heard of clay bars until I came on here :oops: ) so I took the plunge yesterday... results are below :D

yeah the exhaust is pretty poor, need to address that soon :roll:

was surprised how much cr*p the clay takes off :o

didnt think the tyres were that bad :?

Autoglym Super Resin Polish followed by Extra Gloss Protection.
 
Tires aren't that bad, but if you make the rest of the car shiney........... :roll:

I think I'm going to get some 3M Imperial Hand Glaze to use between clay barring. We'll see.










BTW, like the wheels :thumbsup:

(looks like the PS2 ZPs have a pretty good rim protector built in. I'll probably have to buy a set before the year is out. Still running OEMs.)

there is no obvious rim protector though they are fairly chunky.

Ive managed to keep my wheels away from any damage for a whole year :D
 
I've yet to get past washing and waxing, but with all the detailing talk that goes on online its hard not to think i should be claying and polishing with ten thoudsand different compounds etc. Too... much... pressure :D

Looks lovely though 8)

I hadn't ventured past wash and wax before either, but claying really was easier than I thought it would be and didnt take too long either.

I will be claying my Z for the first time as well. Never heard of it until I joined this forum.
 
When I did mine, the claying didn't take long, but a coat of cleaner wax then a coat of Gold class took a bit of time :)
 
i find the shine never shows on pics of the sterling grey models, but judging by yours i bet it gleams in person. ive been planning to clay mine but im waiting till the current layer of wax needs redone. can anyone suggest whats best to strip the car of wax/srp before claying? ive been told doing a wash with fairy liquid should take everything off, then rinse thoroughly and dry. then begin lube/claying.
 
Your car looks great.

Gonna clay mine next week then have a go at removing some of the swirls and light scratches. Have a whole set of pads and polishes so chances are the car will have no paint left on it by the following week :D

bought them from the dealer... not cheap but had to replace one side due to a hole somehow appearing in the offside one :idunno: and thought might as well take the opportunity to upgrade :D
