So in 2010 me my brother and my best mate did the 2010 Europe Scally Rally! and just thought i would share some pictures of the VW we did this in!

although she is now in quite a sorry state, plans are being put in place to have her fully restored and with only 184,000 miles on the clock she still starts everytime! she hasnt run since before Christmas but i put some petrol in last night and got her running!

Found a picture.....

As my first car, I put a lot of work into her.

Mods:
Quad lamps (Golf Gti style)
Black VW badge in the grille
Lowered 40mm all round
Fox 4 15" alloys (had to roll the arches to fit them)
Golf GTI front splitter
Custom exhaust
K&N carb filter
Clear front indicators & smoked side repeaters

This is what she looked like

Can't beat an old school VW

Yours looks like she's had more effort put into her than mine had - and looks pretty hardcore :driving:

Awesome. Love the early dubs. My dad had a few mark 2 golf gti's when I was a kid and loved them. Nicest was a tornado red 16v with the big bumpers with polished tear drop alloys :D

Yeah the late Mk 2 Golf GTIs were special. Not the 8v ones, the 16v with the deep bumpers. Always wanted one, but the insurance for a 17 yr old - I was quoted £4k. Had to settle for the Polo instead.

My friend who came with me on the trip now owns a MK1 Golf GTi with the MK2 1.8 16v engine in running on motorbike throttle biddies! Running 170bhp at present!!

Back in my Crail Raceway days there was a Mk 1 Golf Cabrio with a Corrado G60 engine in it. It was painted similar colour to Montego Blue, just a shade darker. Had coilovers and chrome euro style rims. It was bootifull  Seem to remember it doing 13/14 sec quarter miles too :o Not bad for an 80s hot hatch...

They dont make 'em like they used to....
