My Bluetooth won't pair up on my new E86

Bought a 2007 E86 with all the bells and whistles, absolutely love it and it is perfect in every way except...

On the pop up on board computer i can't pair my bluetooth phone. Just says either "searching..." or "Activate phone"

Followed all the instructions, although mine appears to be missing the numbers around the ignition.

Can anyone give me an idea of where i am going wrong.

I have the telephone manual and the bluetooth code but the phone doesn't even get found, to get to that stage.

Many thanks.

Have you tried searching for the cars bluetooth connection on your phone?
I get to the point your at then go to my phone and search for bluetooth connections, it finds the car and tries to pair but I dont know my paring code :headbang:

+1. Have you tried basic codes for example 1234?

What steps did you follow?

I assume you pressed the pair button on the arm rest to get to that stage, and what phone are you using? It will be on the phone you have to take the next action (i.e. type the code, and no - it will never be 1234).

Try to reset it and clear the previous pairings. It can only pair up with a limited number.
Struggled with mine for ages. Cleared the previous pairings and it connected first time.

Pairing code will either be in your manual or if not (mine wasn't) it's on the Bluetooth Module in the boot on the rear bulkhead. Bit of a pig to get to, but worth it to have the code!

Thanks for the replies (sorry for the thread hijack) code wasnt in the manuals and previous owner didnt know it so spent an hour this evening getting to the module. After some sore fingers and only a couple of expletives finally managed to get the code and pair my phone.
Still think needing a code is a bit pointless. My last car just generated a code when you wanted to pair a phone.
