My AC isn't working in this heatwave.

Hello,

I have a question. I recently got my 2006 z4 and I knew the AC wasn't working properly. Im just seeing your guys' advise to lead me in the right path before taking it in to get checked. So my AC blows regular for the first 5 minutes of driving. After the 5 minutes, it blows VERY HOT air. The AC will not work again until the next day for 5 more minutes. I also noticed that even when it is not blowing hot air, the AC lines coming from the engine bay to the inside are still cold. What could possibly be hot with it? Its 109 degrees here and I have leather seats:(
 
Isn't there some kind of motor and flap that blends cold and hot air in the cabin to create the desired temperature ? That could be playing up, or there will be a little tiny thermistor somewhere measuring the cabin temp, that could be faulty too.

Do you have a copy of BMW TIS to look it up?
 
I would look at the hedgehog first
