5 years and a high Zed turnover later...
Still enjoy this place and it's characters, in the same way I did when I was on 6778 posts

& i can still remember the one asking for advice on pushchairs :P
Top guy Inkey , i always enjoy your cars & posts

Congratulations David - and a nice way to mark the occasion

By the way, isn't it about time you changed cars...

Thanks all. In the 5 years and 8k posts I've become a home owner, father, turned 40 and discovered I do have a very slight problem with buying cars and maintaining interest in them for long periods of time.

I blame this forum actually. If it wasn't for that bloody for sale section I'm convinced or the incessant talk on subjects such as 'What would your dream car be?', or 'Check out my new wheels! You should buy some too!' then I'm sure I'd probably still be driving the 3.0 se.

My time on here has had featured many highlights though, including:

- Finding this place and joining. Think my first post was the classic 'how do I get rid of my misty front headlight?'.
- Being convinced to push things and buy Blacklines Interlagos Z4MC (it all happened so quickly)
- Meeting a few of you at various meets and hoons out.
- Keeping everyone guessing on the drive back from Manchester with a Sepang MR
- Reading the posts from El Taco when he was still allowed on here. Know he was a bit rude to people but believe he was only really playing and I'm guilty of enjoying maybe more than I should have!
- All the help and advice I've been given (including pushchair).
- The realisation a few years ago that I was, actually, becoming a bit of a Z4 expert and could offer actual, real advice to people.
- The Kent Massive!

Loads more and as I say, breadvan ownership hasn't dulled the appeal of this place. Here's to the next 8k and 5 cars

not sure you can blame the forum for all these things, especially the father bit, i think thats completely your own doing lol

Ah 8000 posts, turning 40 and fatherhood, sooo what joys lie ahead to get to 16000 posts...

Admiring the grey hair creeping in
Deny to the death the need for glasses at 45
Ignoring everything aching in the morning
Telling the significant other your grumpyness is NOT BLOODY getting worse
Deny your swearing is getting worse
Shouting at the politicians on telly
Increasingly not hearing the telly
Chortling amicably at your child mood swings
The increasing looming dread leading up to all class kids parties
The not atall irritating "Daddy daddy daddy daddy daddy daddy daddy daddy daddy daddy daddy daddy daddy daddy daddy daddy" over and over and over all day on a Sunday in the garden
The in the back or your mind constant low level simmering worry about your childs future
Taking your offspring to the swings, putting them in the only one vacant next to the pleasant teenagers hanging around and laugh heartily as your child asks "Daddy what does f++k mean"?

Cynical..moi..??

Congrats on the 8000th

Well done David! Very glad that you're a member, thanks for all your advice/input on car stuff... oh and all that other stuff too

Congrats! I have always loved following you changing your cars and love all the lovely photos you put up of them and you always give a great experience share of them. :)

He read the how-to section …

I hope Bing didn't post it!

Nope, I didn't do that one. If I had, and he'd read it, the order would have been : pregnant girlfriend, marry, move back to the UK, rent house, have child, buy house, buy 3.0 many years later, join forum, ditch The Plan a year early and buy an M.

Congrats inkey$ - been a pleasure, and long may it continue
