Just done the deed for my 5th z4. trading in my 3.0 s drive auto 10 plate for 2.8 m sport 62 plate red. Picking it up on Tuesday

A little confused though, this is prereg in December 28 miles (+4 from me) £24950 from £37k new. Next to it was a 12 plate 3.0 and it was up fro £26995. why the big difference.

I got not far off parkers px value (there glasses value was 1.5k higher!!! but they were way off both on the opening offer) after 2 hrs of digging and bartering and them throwing in the bmw protection for paint and interior as the deal maker for me (cream interior, bit concerned never had a light interior before).

Also jumped at the chance for the service inclusive deal £425 for 5 years no brainer.

I was due a change in Sept so made me move a bit sooner but 6 month old car with no miles for that price seemed too good to miss.

Cheaper road tax £7 per month in my next car pot
Cheaper insurance, £25 per month in my next car pot
Service inclusive -£425 but I save £40 per month for servicing had more than £425 in so £40 per month in my next car pot
Extended warty £40 per month, ok I only pay this after the 3 years and in this case had only started in March but I will keep doing this and put it in.....my next car pot as keeping the car I would be spending this.

Then the potential petrol saving, the 3.0 is very similar to the 3 other 2.5's I had they popped 32mpg the 3.0 30mpg so if I can get anywhere near 38mpg thats over £12 per week in the pot.

So in the 2.5 years I plan to have the car I will have an additional £5K in the next car pot, compared to the current car. I already save £280 per month so normally have around £7.5K which has served me well on the deals/ cost to change. I have no finance cash.

next car will be around Dec 15. should take us just after the new zd comes out.

Sounds great & look forward to the pics

BTW , are you an accountant ? :P some hellish number crunching going on above :D

.

5th! I thought I was doing well on my second (along with several others)

Sounds like a great car. I think the big difference is just the engine. You're getting a twin turbo 4 pot, the 3.0 is a six?

I wish I was an accountant would not be bothered with a few squid.

Sticking to it is hard and Im not that fussy with accessories

my remit 1) engine 2) age 3) color outside 4) milage 5) colour inside the rest is what it is

current one is basic but auto and was a little older than I really wanted but pumped for the 3 from the 2.3, next one is msport manual
but the key is to get the youngest and lowest milage in that engine specification but thats debateable. 6 month old thats done 30K my be a little hard to justify than a 1 year 10K but its still younger and has 6 months more wrty

I would rather have an older 3.0 than a younger 2.3 cant afford 3.5 lol.

You won't get 38mpg out of the 28i unless you drive like an absolute saint.

I don't drive particularly fast/aggressively and I only get 28mpg out of mine on average.

The 28i is an awesome engine though. Good buy!!
