My 35is Build Thread

After seeing a yellow Z4 from the US online with some vinyl work, I was inspired to try something similar.

My initial thoughts were red and black would work well together, what could go wrong? :idunno:

This is how it turned out...

I love the sill decals ( well I love all of it to be honest ) I’m planning on doing that as soon as I can find someone to apply them for me :D

My cousin had this made for me from a photo he had taken. Despite being cartoon style, it's very detailed, has my rims, carbon fibre kit, number plate and even the vinyl strip on the skirts. :D

So I've placed an order for a canvas print, only a fiver...

I like the cup holders dude
As much as I love my 35is - same Melbourne Red as yours - the standard cup holders are freaking useless.

It is with a heavy heart that I announce there is one less BMW Z4 35is on the road… A few weeks ago I was involved in a horrific accident which could have easily cost me my life. At the time I felt gutted as I knew I had lost my Z, but today I feel lucky to be alive.

I don’t believe this is goodbye, I loved my Z and especially its looks, so I hope that one day I will be back behind the wheel of one, just not yet and it may not be another 35is but it will most surely be an E89.

Until then, I would like to thank you, this is a great forum and owners club. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting some of you in person, and you’ve been a real friendly bunch, especially Stuart who was kind enough to give up some of his time to replace my battery.

Take care friends.

[ref]red_35is[/ref], REALLY sorry to hear that! But I echo Andy's sentiments. Very glad that you are OK. That was a gorgeous car you had. I really liked the sill decals.

:o :o

Such a shame, that was a superb looking Zed but as you say flesh is more important than metal.

My 26k mile first E85 was destroyed by stupid teenagers, like you it’s a quite astonishing I walked away so to hell with the car.

Here’s to another for you. :driving:

That is really sad news about your car OP after you had put so much love into it to get to 10 pages on here!

But most importantly I'm glad you are OK.

Even a well-loved car can be replaced.

Sorry to hear this. We do tend to get attached to our motors, but at the end of the day that's replaceable. Glad to hear you are ok.

Echoing the others, I am glad you are OK. Despite our emotional attachments to them, remember that the car is a tin can at the end of the day; a lump of metal and plastic. It can be replaced. You can't. Your legs can't. Your passenger can't.

If it's not too painful to comment on it, what happened in this accident? I take it the Zed is a write-off? So sad to hear after all the work you did to it. Again, you can always get another one.

Just a quick hello to my fellow forum members :)

Last year I traded my Benz in to get back into a BMW, unfortunately not the new Z4 but nevertheless I have been enjoying the car; loving the wireless Carplay and little details like the blue stitching on the dash and seats. I did have my eye on another Z4 but it sold very quickly it seems. Would like to get a white M sport to match.

Glad to see you back in here. I loved the red 35is as I have missed mine since the day I sold it. Looking forward to see what you're you going to do next.
