Right, a bit of an update regarding the seats.
I picked up the seats and Friday. I am really pleased with the condition of them, they are almost immaculate! Neither seat is showing any sign of wear at all (not even the driver bolster). The only mark I can find is a small scratch on the passenger leg support section. The leather fells very soft to the touch compared to the standard seats. I have started the work on swapping the bases over as the seller messed up on the Ebay listing stating they were electric when in fact they were not...
So using Imp75's really useful guide I swapped the base over on the driver’s seat. This was actually a really easy task when using Imp's guide and I have the bases swapped over in around an hour. I immediately put this in the car to test and the electrics and heater elements all work fine
I have dismantled the passenger seat ready for the occupancy sensor swap. I ordered a new pre facelift occupancy sensor from Jamie at Sopers in preparation for this. Unfortunately I was sent a standard seat sensor. I can't blame Jamie for this; it is very difficult to work out the correct part number when looking at Realoem. I did some research over the weekend and I think I have identified the correct part number. I spoke with Jamie this morning and he has ordered the new part for me and price match it against the old one as the facelift ones are more expensive. Great service again from Jamie! I am hopeful I will receive the new sensor by Wednesday/Thursday and I can get the Passenger seat installed by the end of next weekend!
Until then here are a couple of pictures of the part install...
I love the way the sport seats feel compared to the standard seats. While the standard seats are still pretty good, I felt they lacked support and they allowed you to move around a bit too much, especially when you are pressing on. My previous car was an E46 330 in which I installed M3 seats. These were probably the most comfortable car seats I have ever sat on and they had so many adjustments available, including side bolster adjustment. I used to like to have the side bolsters pretty tight against my sides to prevent me sliding around and because it felt as though the seat was wrapped around me (if that makes sense?!). The sport seats remind me very much of the M3 seats in that they feel like they are wrapped around you and they certainly don't let you slide around! They feeling they give certainly lives up to the sport name...
So you might have guessed that I am really pleased with the seats! I will update again when I have installed the passenger seat and provide an update with the occupancy sensor...
