My 2006 Z4 3.0Si Supercharged, new updates

I have also done a headlight prosject on this car. That`s why I have not attached the front bumper yet. Did think that the semi chrome finish to the headlight of the Coupe looks bad compared to the Lambo grey. So I decided to do some changes :D

That ment that I had to split the headlights. This is hard work on these Zs  Meaning cutting, heating and some brutal force

But I did it without cracking them :D

Did a very light tint on the indicators

The main prosject was to sand down the uneven surface and pro paint them in the Ferrari colour Grigio Ferro with satin clear :)

Got some pro help also with gluing the headlight back together

Finally I wet sanded and did a polish to the outer glass for a perfect finish

This is kind of a bad Picture, looks much better in real life :headbang:

I really want to do this to mine, I'm just not brave enough. How long did it take you to do?

Car is looking awesome! Makes me very envious. Love the interior! The only way I think it could be any better would be two tone, black and grey seats, to match the dash more. I can't help but think it needs Black alloys too. But I am biased ;)

Thanks, the interior is darker in real life. I will take som better pics when finished.

The wheels will be black, have some in my mind:)

It's a lot of work getting them open as they are glued. The hot gun helps very little and you got to use brutal force... Took me like 6-7 hours

Sounds like a job for the summer. I'm definitely going to do it. Want to change the colour and need to remove stains on the inside of the lens from condensation. :x Can you tell me what adhesive you used to reseal them please?

I'm loving your build progress, certainly a candidate for ultimate coupe...

For wheels, looking something on the edge, check out rotiform http://www.rotiform.com

I'm liking this in particular:

A good suggestion, thanks... I think the design will look a little too messy when mounted. But I can be wrong!

I used windshield glue, really strong and a perfect sealant :)

Cheers for that! I'm going to tackle it, you have inspired me. I'm feeling brave now! Cant stand to look at my headlights anymore.

No worries, everyone's wheel taste is their own, and all the better for it :)
I think the classic looking coupe can take both fussy and simple wheel shapes... the other end of the style scale these simple retro Rotiform BMW M1 style wheels are also growing on me:

Those above are horrible! Looks like the inside of my washing machine.

Pass on Rotiform.

Far too scene for this car.

HRE seems to spring to mind as a far better option.

Hmm love hre except for for cost.
Quite difficult finding something unique yet reasonably priced...

So just buy what floats your boat :)

I'm probably one of the few who quite likes those. Although I'm not sure they're right for your coupe, at least in a silver metal finish. I had been thinking for a while, what would a black coupe look like on a classic style like that in gold or bronze.

The headlight update is great, much nicer than the original black/silver paint attempt, looking good 8)

Taking no chances this time. After tried out 3 wheel set this year, I hope these will be a keeper.

My new wheel set will be HRE FF01 in black.
Have to be a copycat and pick the same set as a very famous Z. But it suits the Z so good :D

Ah yes, that other ultimate coupe, can't go wrong with those

I have spended a lot of time making my instrument cluster the way I want it to be the last few weeks.

First I shipped it down to Germany to get a LED conversion and red needles. The LED conversion was a good investment, the needles not. He only painted my needles with a marker pen:(

At that time I had ordered white face and tried out the combo without being what I wanted:confused2

So after researching a little more (looking at Ferraris and Porsches) I decides to go for a red face!

The needles was painted all over again with airbrush in a very nice emeral silver finish.

The cluster outer panels where painted in a classy Ferrari grey colour.

This is how it looks today, very satisfied... Im sure it isnt every Z owners taste:bellyroll

At night:

Better pics will come:D

They look sweet dude - how did you find the guy doing the LED conversion, and did he do the rest of the backlight stuff in the car? I'd love to do a similar thing, just to update the interior a bit - the red looks so outdated!
