MY 04 2.5 Z4 0r 3.0??

have narrowed down my car search to a MY 04 BMW Z4, but it appears that the 3.0 version has a better MPG figure than the 2.5 is this true? Also how many miles do you Z4 owners get out of the 50 liter tank.

Any thoughts on this would be well received
 
I think most owners get about the same milage regardless of engine. I would recommend the 3.0 for that bit extra power.

I get about 800km to a tank and my driving style usually gets my gf screaming lol :evil:
 
I get about 300 miles from a tank of mixed driving. if all around town, then it is rather poor...

overall average over 4 years of ownership on my 3.0 is 30mpg calculated (rather than taking the on board computer's word for it) and I don't hang about...

What makes a difference on the 3 litre is the sixth gear which is lacking on the 2.5 so when cruising, the engine is quite relaxed.
 
I get just over 300miles to the tank with mixed driving!

The 3.0 litre is a remarkable engine when it comes to MPG and performance!
 
My 3.0 = 350-360miles mixed driving usually (although mostly A-B Roads) to a 50l fill up... Works out at 32-33mpg.

500 miles from a 2.0l must be nigh on impossible!?
 
How heavy is my foot! I get 22 mpg from mixed driving! 36-36 can be seen on a good motorway run!
 
Again, same for me, about 350 miles out of a tank, mixed driving with LOTS of "progressive" driving thrown in..... :evil:
 
for the slight difference i would go 3.0 defo, it might be worth it in the extras you get? although i am not 100% sure on the difference in spec?
 
I've got a 3lt getting 33mpg, plus the 3lt has a 6 speed box so make cruising a lot smoother on long runs. Insurance is a little more but tax is the same (depending on year)
 
My 03 3.0 litre returns around 27MPG, all urban with the usual 60's in between. I drive mine quick though so its pretty good considering, go for the 3 litre.
