MV2 Wheels Red Fading to Black

Got the curbing damage repaired (from previous owner I swear! :P ) and had the option to paint them at the same time so thought why not make the car stand out just that bit more! So happy with the result, I had exactly this fade in mind when coming up with the concept. All opinions welcome good and bad, but hopefully more good! haha.
Hopefully this will give someone else the confidence to do something similair knowing what it could turn out like!

It's a good effect and you've got a great finish, but I wouldn't do it!

But then my car is Silver Grey so there wouldn't be much point anyway.

Only you need to like them.

Loving the creative thinking and willingness to take a chance on doing something new...not for me though. I wonder if the contrast between the two colours is too much out (imho) and how this might look/work with shadow chrome and chrome, for example ??? We'll never know i bet !!
As long as you like it

Fair play and thanks for sharing - I've been considering what to do with my MV2s when I get around to refurbing them and have had one or two ideas so it's nice to see something original.

There's a bit too much red for my personal taste, perhaps a single red line around the outside of the wheel with the rest of it black (no fade) would work. Although, that would likely look better on a black car with red callipers.

Thanks for all the comments, definitely each to their own I think on this one Haha, i absolutely love these wheels, just sick of the old man greys and silver alloys i see all the time and that's why I wanted something original which I hadn't seen before and trust me in person they suit the red zed even more! I probably wont be able to pull this off when I reach my 30's/40's but until then I will enjoy the attention they get! Haha

Good on you for your individuality.
I must admit I took a deep breath when I first saw the pics and I'm not keen on the close ups but coming around to the look from a distance e.g. the first photo. Imo it will look better moving than stationary.

Thanks GJ1, I'm sure it does look great on the move as well, almost an invisible center with red outers holding the car up. I hope one day I trust my gf enough to let her drive it past me without being in the car, so that I can actually see it for myself!

I quite like it.
Not sure it would work with every colour, but with a bold red it matches the car well.
But.................with the shiny black centres, it is going to need the tyres kept really clean and dark black or they will just look a dull grey and draw the eye away from the wheels.

Now just need to do the same with the steering wheel. :D

I think it looks great ! A lot of work and design went into it and it looks really distinctive. Definitely very eye catching 8) :driving:

its ok to be different, of course they won't be to everyones taste, looks a decent enough finish though  personally I'd have liked to see the black pushed a lot further out into the spokes, fading just to the edge of the rim, bit too much red for my liking, as long as you love them though thats all that matters
