Must stop looking at AUC

Good question. Simple answer, I get itchy feet with cars. Thinking on a DCT boxed M3 too but I do like the look of the E89 and the 3.5is is a capable car. I'm not out of love with the Alpina, but starting to look around. Window shopping won't hurt will it...

Of course it won't hurt, but it appears that it's 'change for change's sake' and I think you need to be careful not to get carried away as, sometimes, these things develop a momentum of their own and, before you know it, it's done..

I speak from experience having done something similar when I got rid of my E36 MSport coupe, it was a brilliant handling, very involving car and, even though it was several years ago, I still regret parting with it.

Moving from a great driver's car to something 'softer', for want of a better word, isn't something to be done on a whim - you've spoken in the past about how much you enjoy driving the RS and to go from that to a car that looks the part but doesn't give you the same amount of involvement and feedback could lead to you looking back in a few months and wishing that you hadn't been so hasty

Sorry, I'm not trying to sound like your dad... :soapbox:

These are wise words & I can relate to them alot...ever since I have sold my Cerbera a day never goes by that I don't miss it, the M is a great car but its a less raw & a less intense experience & doesn't have the same sense of occasion as the TVR so I totally understand your sentiment & as they say you don't know what you've got till you lose it. :)

Having never owned an M or an Alpina I make no comment on them, however having owned both an e85 and an e89 I can honesty say that the e89 is the better car by some way. The thing that lets the car down is the numb electric steering, everything else it does better.

Stuart go for a test drive and make your own mind up

get an ///m3
or do what im too much of a pussy to do and get a grandsport...

I shall call them tomorrow and see if its still there. At that price I don't think it will hang around long. An //M 3 with raucous V8 is in the future too.

I need to get a grip

Stuart what's the link to the car you're looking at?

Strange, does not mention a satnav in the advert though?

The automatic bit came from the header info. Guess that is what they call it then rather than DCT.

Would have to be an M car.... If its a toy whats to loose... they are cheap, and go like stink the upgrade to the Alpina.

They can even be economical

Consump 1 is 100 miles of A-B roads

Consump 2 is everything over 3k miles mostly hooning.

Might be included as part of the media package. I searched for cars with nav, and it came up in the list. It's a redline item for me, no nav, no buy

That seems like an absolute bargain, hope you like it

Thanks. It's quite a high miler, but at that price I don't think it'll hang around long. I'm thinking if cost to change is £10k or less and I like it, I might go for it.

Of course if they have a nice M3 there I'll get all confused and explode in a fit of indecision.
