My Z has the connectivity pack so I can use bluetooth for voice, is there any way to get audio streaming over bluetooth? I don't like having to put my phone in the armrest as it sometimes gets used for GPS.
Yup you need to tick the audio box when you pair your phone. Or if you have already paired then go back into the telephone menu from which you can change the settings for any paired phone. Once that's done then go into media and choose your phone. You can change the music using the phone or the I drive but there is less functionality than plugging in eg if you want to switch playlists you have to use phone screen I think.
If you plug phone in again it seems to turn off Bluetooth audio for that phone so has to be switched on again. Does not like a phone being connected by 2 methods. I use an old iPhone for music and leave it plugged in and tucked away in console.
Have been trying to solve a similar problem over the weekend. Just changed from an iPhone to a Samsung Galaxy Note 2. Previously I was using the BMW Y-cable for music and bluetooth for voice. I don't have I-drive.
Unfortunately there is not a similar cable for the Samsung. Instead I have ordered one of these which someone used elsewhere on the forum:

I also bought myself a Tetrax Xway holder which does a great job. With the phone in place it looks almost OEM like (but with all the benefits of full featured nav, apps, soundcloud etc.)
If its a 2010 car on with iDrive its built in. If you don't have it, this has already been covered... http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=46904
