The new Black Keys album, "El Camino". Their best album yet methinks.

Not given it much of a listen. If it is as half as good as brothers it would be a hell of a good album. Fine band

Mainly playlists off my iPod, ranging from Sinatra, Roxy Music, INXS, U2, disco upto present music, my daughter syncs to the same library, she's 16 :) don't know all the artists though!!

Currently though just downloaded David Bowie " Hunky Dory" , it's bought back fine memories!!

jonnyfive, Bing, - found an old 'live' set recorded from a previous gig back in June (it was a live recording so not 100% perfect). Have uploaded and will send PM containing a link. It's got some older classics with a modern twist on it, and then I wandered off into some more underground stuff once the crowd were in-tune

If you like the genre, style etc I have a few studio mixes I can upload too :)

(I trust the bbs sw parses links)

My taste is really really varied. And according to the wife, Weird. It may be easier to say what I don't like. Gangster rap, Modern country.
As per bands. IQ, The Flowerkings, Spocks beard, porcupine tree, Disco biscuits, Rammstein. I seem to gravitate to Prog rock the most.

RANT ON. If it's on the hits list I try not to listen to it just out of principal. I used to spin vinyl at a radio station and I know how the hits are picked. It's dreadful the way they do it. All you have to know is when a radio guy says. This is a brand new band debuting at number 15. RANT OFF

Cheers

Hawaiian slack key. I spend two to three months every year over there so it makes me feel good. I would move there but it is so expensive to live there year round and the term "Island Fever" doesn't just refer to needing a bigger space, it also means wanting more choices.

My iPod has about 9000 tracks on it and it's on permanent shuffle. It has everyting from Opera, to thrash metal which makes for an interesting mix! Current favourite "happy" tunes are the Foster the People Album and "Shuffle" from Bombay Bicycle Club which is totally roof down, foot down music...

Adele Live at the Royal Albert Hall & Seal Soul2

and often nothing at all so that I can hear the four pipes playing :driving:

Jeez, I don't even know what some of you guys are saying! I'm a bit of an old git so I've just stuck a load of my stuff on a memory stick, the who, stones, Springsteen, Bon jovi, bob Marley.

Trying imelda may at the moment but I can't wait for Marley in the summer sun

Never heard of Imela, but the rest get a big  from me !

I'll have to join the old git contingent here: lots of jazz from classic to modern/fusion (particularly guitar-oriented stuff, although Miles features prominently), blues, and rock that I can still relate to (which usually means artists in their 50's and 60's). I even throw in a bit of country from time to time (Brad Paisley is on my playlist). Can't get my head around rap or house or any similar stuff though.

But yeah, depending on the purpose of the drive, music can make it or break it.
