Multifunction steering wheels

I know a lot of people will say that it doesnt look nice or that it doesnt feel as nice but bear with me.

Ive been hunting for a multifunction wheel for a while, missed one on eBay and one on here was too far away. There are a couple on eBay atm one for 500 second hand and one is SMG at 250 odd but atm a little more than id like to spend. £150ish would do me well.

Anyway i was looking about and came across a post on another forum where a guy had swapped his E46 M and Z4 M multi function wheels over. It looks ok to me and they are a damn sight more available and cheaper. Has anyone else done this?

First thing that springs to mind is that you'd have to swap over the airbag too... most second hand wheels don't come with one, so'd you would have to also get an airbag for the wheel (expensive), then likely also have it coded to the car... that guy obviously owned both cars, so just swapped them over...
 
Yea, there are quite a few decently priced wheels with airbags on eBay which is why i thought it might be an option. Did a search on here and only found one thread about someone considering it but no one has actually done it.

Il do some more digging, he says in his post that the Z4 wheel and its buttons worked straight up with no errors etc so its promising. Il post back if i find any more.
