Well next day or so should have:

Knocked £20 since i ordered mine :x

Cheap, enough to have a play with, see if it works.
Also bought cheap reverse camera. Like the idea to set it as a rear view mirror. As roof down normal mirror is useless.
Talking to neighbour might get it to work to open the communal gates at home through phone instead of fob.
Looks like a really good buy. I will be really interested to know how you get on. I haven’t got iDrive in my Z so would also need to buy a controller. But the price is so reasonable compared to some offerings.👍

The unit i have is for iDrive screen pre fitted only. So basically an add on box.

Well fitted and all working great. At the moment give it 5 stars. Connected straight off to my Android Samsung A35g.
Yet to fit reverse camera. Can 4 cameras through 3 inputs. My idea is to run front cam as reverse and rear mirror roof down.
Box fitted under the heater blower box. Had heater on a few times to keep warm. I noticed cool air blows over back area of where radio sits?

Traced the usb and 3.5 under the radio mount past along gear lever and up through hole cut in centre storage.
Surprised it didn't need phone internet connection for Google map use.
And whilst playing music suddenly stopped and phone call came through. Wonder what was going on at first. So that works.
Just need to hide mic just behind steering wheel in front of instruments.

Tomorrow see if it can play videos from usb stick.
Also programme phone to open electric gates via phone number and text.
Still learning curve at moment.

Reaction of screen through iDrive knob is instant as well, no lag.
Got in car later, started and phone connected to screen in a few seconds.

Sounding good there 👍

Got rear cam to fit next, that's arrived.
Might fit two.
One reverse and one i can fit near wind deflector as a rear view "mirror" using the front cam option..

Played videos through usb stick, try some music tomorrow.
Tried phone left message on works answer machine and did pick up voice great even though mic at moment tied up behind the dash.

For the money a bargain compared to the Mr Volt cost.

Didn't taking any pics..not very exciting.
Only thing i can say is to fit camera i removed the left tail light and left inside boot trim. There is a grommet that can be used to pass through the camera wire. Needed tail light off to help guide cable through.
Used a length of nylon tubing to guide wires from the number plate light to left tail light.

Only thing now the camera looks a bit ugly offset to one side.
Do my ocd in looking at it.

Might look at making a bracket and mount camera centre and further back between number plate lights.

In the box.

Connect wifi bluetooth or usb cable.
So far played straight off any video or music i put on usb stick or from phone.
Only one occasion the map lost gps, because it uses phone gps and was in my pocket.
Probably best long journey to plug phone into usb socket keep it charged as well.
Put usb socket with the Aux in plug in arm rest storage.

My car is non idrive so the Ugode model would be a 100% improvement on what I have currently got but seems quite pricey compared to looking at similar ones on aliexpress which I got diverted to. However there are so many on there, any one got any recommendations or should I bit the bullet on the Ugode model ?

Looked at flybobbie purchase but quite like the more modern look of the Ugode model.

There's a wide range of processors and memory types and OS levels..tends to be the cheaper ones are the slower less memory ones..depends I guess how fussy you are and whether to you it matters the Ugode is middle of the pacjk..not high end

No way the connectors will fit behind the radio.
So going to cut out and splice wires to be rid of some connectors.

mine is placed behind the center vents...
Did think of checking there if space but didn't fancy taking that trim off again for the 3rd or forth time.
It's now in and pushed over to the right.
The cable is now a proper T harness with adapter plugs removed so only one main plug socket to be pushed behind.

Well ended up putting the mmi box behind the vents.
Who would have thought there was so much space there, fitted in perfect.
Then that left enough space behind the radio for the adapter socket to factory plug to poke down in the gap behind and down back of radio.
Thanks Christopher.

Only picture I could find of it open... lotsa space in there for that.

I've been distracted adding in storage/cabinets to my garage and my Z4 is still freezing in pieces. Will have to get back to it soon.
