Hi Guys,

So i fitted my new steering wheel and the buttons for the radio don't work, there was a cable already on the wheel that goes from the buttons to the modual where the air bag plus in, what am i missing :(

I think you will need retrofit cable :(

Have a look on the how to guide and it explains how to look and see if you require it, im expecting as you are post facelift (looking at your pic) you will 99% need it if you didn't have multifunction before.

Good Luck

Silly suggestion........ have you tested with the ignition fully on? I only say as when I fitted the aux lead to the back of my stereo i was testing it with just the stereo turned on and seemed like the functionality was not working from the wheel...... until I turned the whole car on and it was sweet!

Yea the ignition is on

I have purchased the retro fit cable but looking at the guide i still cant see how it fits, i feel stupid lol.

you can see on my wheel the cables that are currently fitted, i have the red, blue and white cable that go from the buttons to the madual next to where the air bad plugs in, pic below

PS the wheel has been refurbished now lol

The wire you need to install need to go from the back of the slip ring to the headlight switch.

If you remove the plug from the back of the slip ring, you should see where the wires should be (pin 9 & 10 from memory) if you dont have them you will need the cable.

It a 30 second job to remove the plug from the slip ring. :)

Slip ring is the part that the new steering wheel fits onto by the clocks etc, to the back of that you will see the connector you need to find :)

Ok, so stripped it down last night following the instructions that are very good, still doesn't work :headbang:

I'm thinking i may not has squeezed the Scotch clips hard enough one thinking about it to get a good connection, dose anyone know how hard these need to be squeezed? :?

Whoop!! I hadn't clipped the scotch clips hard enough, all sorted now and works perfect.

Such a easy job, if anyone in the South Yorkshire area ever need a hand I'm more then happy to. When if you're a little further away let me know
