Multi changer

Hi guys

Anyone replaced their multi charger? I've seen the instructions on another thread and it looks quite a big job. Anyone tackled it ? How big a job was it? If it's too big a job for me is there any audio specialist that you can recommend in the northwest? ( preferable Merseyside / Lancashire )

Cheers

It's only two plugs. Piece of cake, once you've removed half the interior. Many of us have done it for various reasons. Couple of hours work for a newbie.

Why are you changing it ? I only ask as they are notorious for sticking , and can be a pain . But this issue might not be terminal .

I'm looking to change to try and fix a problem I've have previously posted on the forum but haven't found a solution.

The multi changer loads up discs / checks them / recognises the cd's / plays them ( according to the nav display ) but no audio. The radio and in dash CD player work as does the aux mode ( I had the problem before I fitted the aux lead so that's not the issue )

Thie wiring looks ok at the back of the head unit. This same problem has been posted on other BMW forums but nobody seems to have a solution.

If you want to check the plugs then go through the boot, you should just be able to reach them, and will be easier than taking the interior to bits.

As above though I would not replace as they are troublesome. Get yourself a MP3 interface of some sorts.
