Hi
I have only just come across this Its a bit late I know. I live 4 miles from Tarbert by ferry. If any one is stuck for accommodation they could try here. www.portavadie.com/staying I don't know what is now available but it is only 50 yards from the ferry. If you want an other route back you could us this way as well and there is a bit off driving that could make your hair stand on end. If anybody has never driven on a C class road we have one here. the C11. Watch the road from Inveraray to Tarbert it is a killer there are a lot of accidents on this road
Sorry I can not join you for the last leg.
When you leave on Saturday make sure you have a full tank. Once you get past Loch Lomond the petrol gets pricey The last place you can get it at normal prices is just after the Erskine Bridge on the A82. It is about 1 to1 1/2 away it is just after the first roundabout you come to. Watch out when you are pulling out of here as the traffic is moving at a pace. When you get on to the A83 at Tarbet watch the 30 mph as the Police like to wait there. It is a nice run over the Rest to Inveraray. You could stop for a bite to eat at the Oyster bar at the top of Loch Fyne [a bit pricey] or carry on to Inver. I would recommend the George Hotel at the top of Main St. You will drive past it and then its only about 45 mile to Tarbert. Have a nice trip any problems while you are up here give me a ring on 01700811473 If I can help I will.
