Mulit Function Steering Wheel

Dear All,

I have sourced a BMW Z4 multi function steering wheel for my 2004 Z4 30i. Does anyone know if the steering column slip ring will need changing? Will the car need programming to accept it? I previously had a Volvo which runs on a Canbus electrical system. I believe that BMW system is K-Bus? I don't use the stock radio as I have an Alpine IVA 511RB Head Unit, Hertz Amp and new speakers fitted. I am aware that I will need an interface unit for the controls to work with the Alpine gear its just whether the slip ring will need changing etc.

Mine was a straight swap from normal to m. Although I don't have multifunction controls.

This is a direct replacement - no need to code and plugs into the BMW loom through to the head unit. Suggest any wiring changes/interface will be with the multi socket into your head unit. Remember to isolate the battery and lave for 30 mins before removing the old wheel and airbag to avoid issues.
