so how do I get a a "Poll" set up for after I install the mudflaps to see how many actually hate them. Black on a white car is the issue...
Now... who was it that said something about mudflaps on a Z4 being like a stripper wearing wellies?

Or how many actually like them. Oh and what's it like having a white car with black tyres...... must be hell. Halfords do a great range in white spray paint.

I never said I didn't " like" strippers wearing wellies,
and the file was a pdf buried in a post on another forum and I couldn't get a link off it. I got the file and then can't attach it and I don't want to cut and paste 6 pages onto a post here. I think the flaps will be fine because of the proximity to the black tires and the contrast with the white bodywork.

I called the dealership in Phoenix and they emailed the correct instructions, colour pics and all. . The front wheels you do with the wheels on and the rears HAVE to come off. There is no way it can be done wheels on. Following the instructions (all pics, no written) the fronts took about 15 minutes each. The rears took about half an hour each and I wasn't rushing. If I had it on a lift and had done it before it would take about 45 minutes tops for all four. They were dead easy, easier then the ones on the E85 judging by the instructions for them. 
One tricky part was the sticky tape they use on the sides, it says(shows) to fold out a small flap so you can pull it out later and seal them to the bodywork but on the front the tape is split and stuck together with cello tape. Pull it out past the join 'coz the cello came off and didn't pull the next bit out. Lots of "F**king BMW A**holes" was heard for a minute or two. :x
I took it to the car wash and gave it a rinse then drove down the street and took some pics before it got dirty again I can sure tell the difference from before by the number of stones and gravel that I used to hear and what I hear now. Well worth it and I don't think they look too bad at all.

Had the same problem with mine however if you offer up the part first and mark its position with a chinagraph pencil (wipes off easily a doesnt mark the paintwork) then remove the tape and 'stick in place using your original marks then secure with the screws etc.
You can really feel the difference with the mudflaps - no nasty noises as stones rattle around the wheel arches and significantly reduced stones chips on the rear outer arches. I have noticed a slight difference in performance about 1bhp at max revs. Cornering is improved as the flaps create additional downforce which outweighs the loss of power. As for looks, as I drive through my local town it's a real headturner - I can hear people saying, 'Just look at those mudflaps - driver must be 50 plus..... and bet he likes strippers in wellies - cool guy'.

It’s possible but it’s all in the preparation. Before any top coat is applied it will need an appropriate plastic primer to allow adhesion of the top coat without flaking. The finish I would suggest won’t be as durable as ‘solid’ plastic trim. Probably best to get advice on the right primer for the plastic from a good body shop.
