MUD FLAPS or NO Mud Flaps

I've been toying with the idea for a while now of getting genuine BMW mud flaps. Partly for the practical reasons but I think they add a interesting look to the E85. But........
I'm still not 100%
The main draw back being the adding the black plastic look to the clean lines & look. So possibly colour code them?

So what's everyone else's thoughts on Mud flaps? Pros & Cons?
Any pictures or images?

Better on black than any other colour ; if my skirts weren't already battered I might consider it ; not sure I would actually get them though as they do spoil the lines a bit.

What about some kind of protective film instead ?

Its a no from me,i wouldnt fancy drilling to fit them!

Halfcolin has them fitted - at a guess I would have thought they attach using existing trim connection points in the arch, but he could tell you. And supply pics.

I got them, fitted them myself too...

yeah, they use both new drilled points and some existing ones... very easy to do actually... our man in the BMW garage was good enough to include the proper fitting instructions with mine too.... he's a good lad ;)

I think they blend in depending on the angle....

So I have marks on my skirts where they are fitted and can see the benefit there, but i have many more marks down the back end of the skirt in front of the rear wheel. I assume these would reduce that ?

I've fitted a set to mine not so long ago as my skirts were taking a battering. I was worried they would look a bit gash but I quite like them and to be honest I don't even think about them now. I've also noticed that I'm hardly getting chips or fine scratches down the sides of the car, if at all.

They are easy to fit and here's a guide....

More images please if anyone has them fitted?

One of the Nordic/ scandinavian members (?) Had them on a red car and they looked great. I was all set to buy some til I saw the price and was put off. Its a yes from me! Has the effect of lowering the car slightly too imo.
