Mubea suspension springs

Hi Guys,

Need a suggestion.
I would like to know if anyone in this forum has used the Mubea suspension springs?
Does anyone know if Mubea is a good brand for BMW parts?

Strangely, in 150,000 miles, I never had a OE spring break, and only replaced my OE springs when I put the Bilstein kit on.

But some people seem to need them every 40,000 miles :P

I bought all the parts for the front and rear suspension replacement. Mine is still only 86k but the ride feels kind of uncomfortable. So decided to change it; including all the springs (going for Bilstein b6 for the rear shocks and b4 for the front struts). I don't think the previous owner took good care of the vehicle.

Ordered for the rear Suplex springs from a seller on eBay. But they instead send me the Mubea brand. I asked them why and they didn't really had the Suplex in stock and so sent these; they are ready to refund the amount if I don't want the Mubea brand springs though. But I do not know anything about this brand. Thought I could get some feedback from the forum guys.
 
Mubea is a very well established German spring manufacturer, although I must confess I wasn’t aware they offered coil springs for cars until your post. For all we know they might be the original BMW spring manufacturer!

Never heard of them but their comapny website says they are OEM for everybody from BMW to Lambo' ............. which given the failure rate of Z4 springs isn't a great recommendation. My Sachs replacements have lasted longer han the OEM turkey twizzlers :oldman:

I'd check if they're variable diameter rear barrel springs you can. When I've been looking some aftermarket replacements are constant diameter and not the variable type which is what you want. In fact some aftermarket suppliers like lesjofors offer both.

Good advice to check if they are constant dia or variable rate and get what you expect. I personally went for constant dia (Sachs) as it's the thin 'pig tails' that usually break off prematurely. The ride seems more 'planted' and maybe 5-10% firmer on the road, the only slight downside is over bad low speed bumps, but the difference is marginal either way.
