MTMC Tyres Tonbridge (Alignment)

Just had a four wheel alignment at MTMC in Tonbridge using their new Hunter Hawkeye system. Great experience - Donna made me a coffee then Tim let me follow him around and ask stupid questions all the way through. Really knowledgeable guys. As I was getting steering wheel vibration at speed they advised checking the balance of the front wheels too, and sure enough each one needed a 20g weight. All in all took about an hour and a half or so, and while I was there the owner Chirag phoned in apparently to check everything was going ok. They did the alignment for a great price and the wheel balancing required a donation to the charity box. Result, and I'd recommend them to anyone local, or not so local

The before/after is below - turns out it wasn't that bad, but the rear toe was well out as was the thrust angle. The car seems to be driving just fine after the short drive home, but I'll need to get it up to speed on the motorway to tell for sure.

They loved the car, very complimentary about it's condition - which as I've had it for 5 months and quite a few thousand miles I will take just a little of the credit for

There's something very satisfying about having a report for an aspect of your car that's all green. I took it as licence to drive all the way home with the DSC switched off

It was dry earlier - now pissing down and the DSC will stay switched on. Not that brave

Not today. Had a wet run back on the motorway from Ashford yesterday, seemed to be much better but it's a crap piece of road so unsure as that surface causes vibration usually anyway. Might nip out later... Need to give the interior a spruce up first though, not been cleaned for about a month or more...

I was back here today because the car is still pulling to the left ever so slightly. The guys had it back on the ramps, checked the alignment again and sorted a little bit of movement that had caused some unwanted toe on the driver's side rear. Unfortunately the car was still pulling, so they swapped the wheels over too... Nada, still an issue. It's very gentle and on twisties or town driving you don't notice it really. The guys suggested I take it to my local specialist to have it checked as it may be something specific to the Z4 they're not aware of, so I'll stick it on the list for when it gets serviced - it's not serious, just slightly irritating, so I'll start a thread on it later.

Anyway, yet more great service, and this time round didn't cost anything - I guess it was more of a post-alignment check up. So, still recommended as otherwise the car is driving really well

Im booked in for Saturday morning

Took her to work today after fitting my new RTAB with a limiter kit at the weekend with Jembo and Allan's help. Defiantly feels tighter but then my old bushes where on 90K :D Hopefully this is the last of my suspension mods as its pretty much all been replaced over the last year

What to mod next brakes or exhausts

Unfortunately MTMC canceled my appointment this Saturday, not entirely sure why but i assume they were busy :( so I took it in to Maidstone this morning and got it done else where while i done a bit of shopping :)

As expected my rear toe was well out but i knew that as i didn't pay to much attention when installing my RTAB. My cambers also a little out but then i am running coilovers so may be one day ill invest in some adjustable rear arms :D

Also had all 4 wheels rebalanced as i was getting some vibrations around 60MPH which has now been sorted so my cars now ready for some summer :driving:
