Same size rubber too with 255 35 19 Michelin PS2s on both sets

Pretty sure the CSL uses 265 but 255 is OK on a 9.5J.

Just saying the staggered CSL sizes are as above, with the CS running a narrower front wheel, the rear tyre width was dropped to compensate.
just saying Steve84N said:I also said originally that it's not an issue, just pulled you up on your facts as CSL is 265.![]()

Nah , save that for the "///M Market Watch" threadWe're just having a healthy wheel/tyre debate
You can play around with tyres up & down in sizes , in reality there is no definitive right or wrong even if the set up was OEM BMW , Merc , Audi or whoever .
Many times it increases comfort & makes the speedo more accurate . The E46 M3 CS set up is a strange one though as i can't recall any other BMW wheelset that has a 8j front with 9,5j rear :? The stagger is usually only 1j different as in 8j + 9j , 8.5j + 9.5j , 9j + 10j ? Experimental or just quirky 8)
You said same rubber as gen CSLs, I read that as 255 on CSLs.mr wilks said:Steve84N said:I also said originally that it's not an issue, just pulled you up on your facts as CSL is 265.![]()
Are we chasing our tails hereive never stated CSLs run 255 35 rubber :? I did say that i fitted 255 35 to "wheels" that are the same numbers as CSLs  as in widths /offsets

I'm more than in agreement for tweaking tyre sizes, I've switched to a 245/40/18 for example on the rear for less understeer and a more accurate speedo.
z4pilot So with the matched spacers and the narrower rear tyres said:In all honesty it feels no different & the M in general flatters the average driver most of the time , I would say overall though that compared with previous ZMroady this one is not as surefooted but only by a narrow margin.
I'm putting that down to the Eibachs & I think it's had a "custom" geo in the past & I'm not a fan of tweaking them from factory settings so once I've changed back to standard M springs I will have it reset to standard

Interesting you're going back to standard springs Mr W, can I ask why? Only as I'm doing the same with my MC which is on H&Rs, but as I go down to London regularly it's a nightmare being so low.
bmwaddict Interesting you're going back to standard springs Mr W said:I love how it stands & looks but imo the Eibachs kill any front end compliance out on the road & by comparison to standard M springs offer zero in terms of enhancement to the cars handling ( I'm talking from my own point of view in regards to the specific miles / driving I do )
I will post up thoughts as soon as it's back on M springs
