Over the last 12 months or so I’ve had a problem with the Mr12volt MMI randomly shutting off and reverting to the BMW radio for a few seconds and then it would carry on as usual, I presumed that it was overheating and shutting down, I’d repositioned it for a little more ventilation but the problem persisted, the Z4s only a weekend fair weather car so doesn’t get a lot of use, sometimes it would do it and other times it would within a few minutes, anyway it did it again yesterday whilst I was picking my granddaughter up from school, it suddenly dawned on me that every time it did it it was a traffic report and yes you’ve guessed it I had the traffic information set on the radio, perhaps I’d been playing around with the stations and somehow turned it on but it’s sorted now so alls good.
