MPG with the 3.0 ?

There's no point of just throwing out figures at the OP as it all depends on...

* What sort of roads
* How you drive
* How much it costs per litre (The tank is 55 litres BTW)

For example, I get an average of 19mpg (actual - OBC over estimates) per tank because I only do short distanced (<10miles) spirited city driving.

Under normal driving I would calculate it using the following estimates:

* 32mpg - motorway
* 26mpg - A Roads
* 20mpg - City/Town Roads

Figure out how that 800 miles splits up, find out how much petrol will be for you per litre and you'll have a better guess at what it would cost you.

I rekon you'll get between 25 and 35 mpg depending upon how you drive it. £ 50/60 will get you around 300 miles. Just fill it up and enjoy the thing. :D
 
I get 26-27mpg, the main problem i get is traffic, which is something else you have to consider. My journey into work at the moment seems to be getting slower and I spend more time recently sitting in traffic (I was getting 29mpg before). The 3.0 Z is not very good when just driving bumper to bumper.

I'm now driving a Ford Puma to work to cut down the miles I am putting on the Z. The Puma seems to be doing about 34mpg in the same traffic conditions which is a bonus as i wasn't getting the benefit of a powerful engine with my work commute anyway.

You must have done 55mph in 6th with a tailwind then! :D

Was that an OBC readout or a real figure?
 
Leeds, Dover, Calais, Bordeaux. 2 people, luggage, mostly motorways, there and back is 1800 miles. Roundabout 31 mpg. Now and again I gave it a blast but with OH driving she would keep it at speed limit. Yet to do 400 miles on a tank of petrol but who cares. My Audi 2.0 TDI would do 50 or 55 on the same trip but was deadly boring. Choose Life. Choose Z4
 
I'm amazed at some of these mpg numbers! My driving is 95% in town (strike one), sport is on all the time (strike 2), steptronic in on manual (strike3?). Average mpg is about 15 - 16mpg. Maybe CA emissions stuff also bringing the number down? Oh well, fill it up and go - gas here about $325/gal (US).
