:D 240mile round trip. Mansfield to Whitby and back yesterday and got a dash reading of 39.3 mpg.
From a 3.0 I think that is more than reasonable. 70>80 mph a good bit of the time too. :D

Haha slight lapse of consentration at times.
Didnt like holding rest of traffic up behind me  , Some people seem to be pushing you all the time, especialy van drivers  (and I used to be one in my early days)

39.3 . . . . . wow

28.2 is my best so far in 9 months of "mixed" driving conditions . . . must stop wearing these divers boots and get me flip flops on

Delboy :)

Always averaged about 31 in my 3.0l. Driving almost the entire length of the A1 last week I got it 32ish, but driving around Scottish B-roads has reduced it again :)

Reading is now showing 36.6 after some mixed driving. I should have taken a pic for proof of 39.3
Here's after a couple of days mixed driving.

I always use Tesco 99 petrol and previously got an average 24>25 mpg back and forth to work.
I recently filled up and saw the name had changed to Momentum 99 and noticed a difference straight away with the mpg. It went up to 32>33 mpg back and forth to work :o

Does anyone know if the grade of Tesco 99 has changed for the better??
Has anyone else noticed a difference??

i calculate mine from gallons bought to miles run, more accurate

Yeah I know, thats how I have always done it.
This is the first car I have owned which has this facility so its a novelty, gives a rough idea though. Also saves getting the calculator out

2.5 SE 5 speed - Last 1100 miles of mixed Motorway, A, B and some serious spanking and I'm getting an amazing 36-38 MPG, 38 being with 97 RON Super unleaded. I have noticed that the sport button really uses a lot more fuel even if you don't spank it, not sure why?

I average about 31 mpg from my 3.0i overall but have had 44.1 mpg on the OBC after 100 miles of steady motorway cruising at 60-65 mph :D

Best i have had is 28.1 going 70 for a full tank with no stops, I thought my little 2.5 might not be a speed demon, but would atleast get better milleage,

The 2.5 may be a bit more economical around town but as soon as you get onto the open road then I think the 3.0 is better due to the 6th gear. The best I have managed was about 37.something between Truro and Plymouth. I'm doing a trip to Bristol in a couple of weeks so will see what I get then (if I can restrain my right foot). Just fitted cruise so that may help.

My 2.2 has averaged 32.4 since the start of the year.

I have probably done 65/35 split town/motorway, so I think I am doing ok.

If I try hard I have been able to get 38+ mpg in the past on a long motorway run.

I would prefer the 6th gear, but I like having the rather rare 2.2

There aren't that many of us driving this little beauty :D :driving:

I'm driving a 2.0l and got 48mpg driving back from Wales to Birmingham

Reckon I could get up to 55 if I tried.
