Im currently getting about 30 MPG, im sure when i got the car I was getting over 37.

What do others get with the 2ltr engine?

That sounds about right. Winding up the 4 pot brought it down to 27/28 mpg when I took mine on back road hoons.

I've got a 7 to 8 mile run to work, mostly in a 40 mph limit :(
Averaging just over 33 mpg at the moment
A recent 130 mile run over to Newcastle averaged 43 mpg
More spirited run drops to about 38-40

damn...... mines sitting at 26.1 :fuelfire:

altho when I 1st got it and it was on runflats tyres and all 4 were 225 wide for some reason (not sure if the harder tyre matters?) and I drove it a lot more "sensible" (aka boring) I was getting about 32-35 from memory, since getting better rubber and wider rears it seemed to make an immediate impact and dropped it to below 30 :headbang:

I'm genuinely really surprised how low a mpg most of you guys are getting out of the 2.0l in the E85. My preface lift 3.0l generally around town averages about 30mpg and on a motorway/ fast A run that's very close to 40mpg. Ok I don't drive it like I stole it but I'd say I use it enthusiastically! It not like I'm a grandma.

Maybe it's because I don't use it to commute/rush hours and the like. Still surprising though.

Never thought about the wheels, I am now running 265 tyres on the rear on a 19" 9.5j wheel. Guess that may effect it lol

I get 30mpg around town. Seen as low as 28 when my foots heavier than usual.

Recently I drove 170 miles on a longer journey and I got 44mpg.

yea I noticed an instant drop going from rear 225 winter run flats to rear 255 decent normal summer tyres (+ the front change) so it literally dropped a few MPG overnight lol

I suppose when you think about it going from 225 to 255 is about a 13% increase in rear tyre width. With this comes a similar increase in grip/drag/ traction etc and consequently more friction with the road. Hence an effect on economy.

It's a trade off between grip/ handling and fuel economy. We could all run around on 125 wide tyres, fantastic for fuel economy but cornering would be very interesting. Acceleration would also be fun, wheel spin city no doubt!

exactly MACK, did toy with the idea of going 265 rears when I change wheels but tbh I will be happy with 255 as don't want the mpg to drop any further and im more than happy with current grip/handling at 255 :)

Likewise, surprised how the mpg isn't too different than I used to get from my(2005) 3.0, I could get upto 39mpg in it,and averaged about 32 when driving sensibly/around town etc...dropping to 28 avg.when on a spirited drive. :driving:

There goes the argument for getting a 2.0,over a 2.5/3.0i,haha :poke:

pretty sure mine has been remapped by previous owner so that will affect mine more.... (I think?)

Remaps don't usually adversely affect mpg - in fact they often improve it slightly. Why do you think its been remapped - just curious ?

Ditto,mine improved by 1mpg when remapped(3.0)

oh right, I though remapping them to produce more power (however small) would cause more fuel to be used and cause lower mpg?

and read on the previous owners online build thread it had a "zeemax remapped chip" or something like that lol??
