MPG 1.8/2.0

It should get better over the next thousand miles, then better still in summer, and better still if you don't use it for short journeys.

Cool - I have a long journey at the weekend so should get a good indication if things are improving - I drove a 2.0 auto the day before i got this one and it regisitered over 40 when I was driving it ~(I had the salesman sat next to me) but it was in sports mode and I did push it a bit!

Got 32mpg from my 28i with 1000miles of French motorway driving over weekend. I could easily have got 40mpg if I'd stuck below 70mph so turbo was running less, and probably high 40s if I sat at 55mph. I did neither :driving: that being said driving it spiritedly or only for short runs to shops and back and I'll get low to mid 20s. As always with mpg figures cars are only every as economical as their driver..... Still I didn't buy it for fuel economy.

My overall MPG on Fuelly.com is 38.5 (UK G), although the link below shows 37.1 UK MPG. Either way happy with 37 ish.

Thanks. How many miles have you done and was it much lower to start with and when did it improve

Ive had my 18i for 4 months and on 3600 miles now. I am getting 24mpg lol... Mainly due to stop start commuting in the mornings but on the motorway driving at 70-80 I can get a comfortable 40-45mpg.

When I was doing a mix of motorway and city driving on a daily basis I got 32mpg
