Moving to a Z4 from a Z3 - what to get?!

Hi all!

New here...

I'm looking into buying my first Z4.

I've previously had a 2.2ltr Z3 and a 2.8ltr Z3 I miss the Zed so much that I've decided it's time to get another, only I'd like to go for a Z4 this time!

Sooo my question is what do I get?

I test drove a 2.5ltr Z4 today and it was lovely BUT I was a bit under-whelmed...

Is the 3.0ltr much different in terms of running costs and performance?

I've been spoilt performance wise more recently as I've been able to drive a Lotus Elise with Honda type R engine putting out 300bhp... So I realise no Z4 is going to be this quick but I need a compramise of comfort and speed.

Please help a lost newbie find her true love! :D
 
First, hello and welcome

If you look at a face lift zed, so 2006 onwards the 2.5Si has 218 bhp and the 3.0Si has 265 hp, the gearing on the 2.5Si is the downside in that there is a resonance point at 75 mph

The older 3.0 2003-2006 has about 230 hp and the 2.5 is 175 hp

I drove the 2006 2.5Si today

Perhaps I should get out in the 3.0

So excited at the prospect of another Zed :driving:
