When I moved to Norway I was adamant I'd keep my supercharged Z4 as it was a "keeper". Unfortunately the only option was keeping it outside at my parents and every time I came home it was covered in bird s**t and the brakes were seized on. It was wasting away not being used.

I'm not sure any Z4 is special enough to pay for dry storage... in fact it's not. Plus you'd have to keep up the servicing, etc, which means keeping it taxed and insured, all an expense and hassle you won't need when 4000 miles away.

So sell it now and buy another when you return... need to think with the head on this one and not the heart.

+1 on this. Z4 not special enough for this I think. The costs will probably equal any benefits. Get the cash, invest it, buy a great car in 3 years. Spend that time watching the new cars come out, knowing you will have your pick later. :D

yep, that's the way I am now swinging, it does make my decision a bit easier knowing that fellow enthusiasts can see the sensible option.

Anyway, as we all know when it comes down to it, the final decision will realistically be made by 'er indoors, who would no doubt get her grubby mitts on the 10-11k I would hopefully get and invest it in bed linen and whatnot!

Sell it. It will lose between £3k and £5k in 3 years and will be worse off being sat all that time. Buy a bargain one in 3 years and get a different colour combo to enjoy some variety.
