Sold my E85 2.5si and moved to a E89 3.0 auto , 66k , I drive , sports seats , PDC front and rear

Some people’s conception of very clean car is sadly mistaken
It has took me three days to get the Z looking like this , paintwork as smooth as silk
First Mod stubby ariel , lci indicators and salmon relays hopefully arrive tomorrow
Dent guy coming at the weekend (Minor dings)73489240-F8CD-49B4-8819-EC087EF8749F.jpeg

So far so good apart from rattles driving me nuts , soundproofing foam on order then dismantle cabin

strange about the rattles, heard this from others on the forum, not a single one on mine..slight creak when you put your elbow on the door armrest but thats it...Car looks good pal

Beautiful. I'll join you on the dark side one day. I truly think it's the best looking Z4 of them all, especially when some owners option up the interior.

Both your cars look great OP.

The 3 litre N52 is a great engine, so you should enjoy your new car. :driving:

Thanks Guys appreciate the comments , the 3.0 is scary when pushed in sport mode , definitely doesn’t disappoint coming from the 2.5si

Was unsure about the Lci indicators not a fan of chrome but I believe they are better than pre facelift , the original white indicators Looks as if they finished the car and realised it had no side indicators and stuck a couple of white blocks on

Sweet looking car with nice wheels! You could colour code the LCI indicators if you don't like the chrome or do them in a contrasting colour.

Welcome to the Dark side, good colour choice too

LCI's a good start as the old style ones are just so wrong.
You could then progress to a black roof like mine

How are you finding the 89 compared to the 85? Pleased with the move? Not missing the manual?

Much more refined drive hasn’t got that 80’s hot hatch feel that the E85 had , I would say the handling is not as sharp but makes up for it in comfort and acceleration
I reset the auto box with carly , it is smooth and gets through the gears quickly especially in sport mode which is quite scary
To answer the question
Don’t regret the change to the E89 auto one little bit 👍

How did you do that? through the coding section? and what difference did this make to the gearbox?

Yup did this with mine too if you remember - definitely took some jerkyness out of the gear changes and hasn't returned since. It's one of the non-coding options in Carly along with e.g. battery registration etc.

It is under customisation which is listed where coding is listed ,the gearbox before hand felt like it hung in the gears to long and had to work it to make it move after resetting a lot smoother and moved through gears quicker
It basically adapts to your driving style rather than last owners

Sounds good! I've only had my 85 a few weeks and loving it, but do aspire to the upgrade at some point! :D

Nice looking car! Those wheels (with the bolts around the circumference) aren't my usual cup of tea, but seem to really fit this vehicle. Very aggressive looking.

But OK, I give... what does LCI stand for? I know you are referring to the side turn signals, but I cannot figure out the acronym.
