Mounting my speakers - Grill Options?

So i spent time and upgraded my audio in my Alpina.. Still needs some finishing touches..and a re-tune

I bought Morel 4" components for the doors - however the window rubbed the rear of the speaker, also the front hole was too close to the cone.

So in the end decided to get the Dermal out and make the hole little bigger and pop the speaker in from the front.

Only issue is not sure if i like the grill! 2 options, one looks too big the other i am not sure about..

Any thoughts?

i would prefer the 1st as its more protected, the 2nd looks cool but stands out like a sore thumb, speaking of thumbs, a stray finger or thumb in the dark trying to grab the handle could damage the cone as its exposed a lot in the 2nd option...

been like this for 3 odd months - well the speakers been exposed from the inside - i am just really careful.

i was just thinking the original grill just looks big...may give you a better idea..

oh yea, it makes the overall size a lot bigger doesn't it
