Well was interested how it would fare with remap, larger injectors and supercharge.

Only issue was rear tyre tread low but legal and front tread wearing on inner edge.

So not bad for an 11 year old car.
 
Lucky you. here Finland it is instant failure if you have supercharger. It is illegal and impossible to pass mot.

Seems ironic given how much you Finns love your driving. I'd have a doppelganger car that I'd keep in the garage and take out once a year for an MOT (or whatever you have in Finland) whislt driving another with the same ID / colour reg plate etc - and a superchager! :evil: I sometimes think a lot of us who live and drive in the UK don't realise how lucky we are, a lot of EU countries now won't allow mods of any kind. It'll come here eventually I think so we should make the most of it while we can.

I count myself very lucky to have lived through an age where there have been some great cars and motorbikes and been able to own quite a few nice ones and modify as I wished. I passed my car test in 1967 and started with a 1960 Austin A40 inherited from my Dad then moved on to Minis. I'm actually glad to be nearer my grave than my cradle, the world is going to s**t!

I take it there are no Mercs where you live then?
All the Kompressors are supercharged are they not?

I am guessing he means non standard...
 
Correct. Here is basic rule that all emissions has to be same and power can not be raised more than 20%, and if you raise power that 20% you have to have all brakes, suspension etc. similar than model series most powerful version. In z4 case 3.0si.
It is so sad thing because i have 2 M54 based cars and there are world full of aftermarket supercharger kits just basically bolt on, but is illegal to install.
Some people bolt those kits and just drive, then take all supercharger related parts off for mot check. So much work and hassle. And if you drive accident and have illegal supercharger insurance company dont cover anything. It can be really expensive for you. You in worst case scenario pay it for you rest of your life.
 
well my kit stated you need the following upgrades:

engine mounts
suspension
brakes
clutch

only thing left for me to do is the clutch but it drive fine at the moment.
