Took my November 2004 2.2 Z4 for its annual MOT today.
Just thought I would share.
It passed again with flying colours another year with no repairs or costs except fuel, tax and insurance.
In 11 years the only items I have replaced are the battery and starter motor, due to leaving unused for too long.
I am still on original tyres, wiper blades bulbs etc.
Mileage is low, condition is showroom weekend use and trips to Europe are still a pleasure.

It should be failing on the tyres. Tyres are recommended to be replaced after 5 years. Rubber deteriorates over time, especially when exposed to UV rays.

Surely you have some cracks on them? When I bought mine it had 3 year old tyres and whilst they performed ok, they didn't look great on the sidewalls.

It's uv light that knackers rubber, if it's been garaged most of its life they might still be ok :?

It lives in a dark dry garage, tyres are fine except for being original Bridgestone run flats.
yes it was a concern but no cracks or deterioration at all.

Nice one
A year old when you bought it ?
What was mileage then and now ?[/quo

Oops it's 12 years.
Owned from new
Mileage 18K
Re rubber deterioration, the wiper blades are just as new, soft and clear screen really well but I am aware that tyres are more important than wiper blades.

That's really low mileage, one owner 18k 12 year old there can't be many like yours around
You ought to put some pictures up.

Good to hear from you OP - great result!

You don't overdo things do you - 8 posts in over 6 years, 18,000 miles in 12 years!

You must have one of the lowest mileage Z4s on here - please share some details (and better still photos) with us.

I thought 8,000 miles in 2 years with my first one was low use!!

My car flew through its MOT the other day too i was a bit embarrassed though as it had only covered 201 miles since the last MOT 12 months ago!

so time to wash it and put it away for the winter now
