does it matter where you get your car mot'd

the damn thing ran outyesterday and the only one near work is a bit of a "back street place" i had the clutch done there on my focus and it was ok. her-indoors has had her P reg 106 mot'd there and it passed even tho it sounds evil and clunks when it goes around corners!
 
If I were you I'd take it somewhere that's a dedicated mot place. You take it to somewhere where they fix cars and you can be sure it'll need something doing to it that they happen to do themselves.
 
Had the X5 done at local Halfords. Book online, and the fact yours has run out you'll need a booking, and it's £27.50.
 
Had mine done last week at Autotecnik, BMW Indi in Blackpool. Passed with no advisories, Always had great service from them and of course they know there BMW's £43.00
