MOT today and good news is passed.
Brakes and discs will need doing. And have some corrosion on brake pipes son will need to do some preventative servicing to stop further wear.
Really pleased with this as first MOT since had car and put my mind at ease that I have bought a good car

 Always good to hear.

Discs and pads are cheap for these cars. And its a simple enough DIY job. The pipes are a bit more involved might be one for a garage.

Brakes, Discs, Pipes have always been a favourite with 'some' MOT stations

If it helps, last year, and the year before, she had advisories on rear disks and hand-brake, but this year there were NO Advisories - and the MOT was done at a main dealer - so work that out if you can :?

Thanks for that. The guy I use is reliable and I trust him. He did work on my car before the Z4, Alfa gtv, and helped me realise was going to become a money pit and maybe should change to different car. Front pads are feeling worn when drive so will look at replacing discs at same time. He will fit for me and I will source parts

Good news. Always a relief when it's a pass.

Mine was done on Tuesday, only advisories were the rear tyres and they have at least 6 months left In them. The garage tried, in a quite halfhearted way, to sell me a couple of tyres, which I politely declined!

Here's to another 12 months! :)

Glad it passed. Mine did too this morning.

With regards to brake pipe advisories, mine has moved from being the rear pipes last year to the front to rear pipes this time. Won't stop me refreshing the lot soon, but they certainly lack consistency on them..

She passed, end of

Take it to another MOT station next year, they'll ignore the pipes, but find something else :headbang:

Each [MOT Station] to their own [money-pit]

I agree every garage finds their own "favourite" fail.

Good choice with cars ( into opinion!). I loved my GTV but had to get my Zed before I never got one. Mine was a money pit for the last few years but was a great car with as characterful an engine as the s54 in the busso. Beautiful looking car as well.

Yes loved the Alfa and its 3.2 lump was work of art to look at engine.mine was silver with red momo interior. Really sad to see it go. But the Z4 has eased that pain very well.

I had a silver phase 2 so was 3.0 litre but sorted the intake and the exhaust for a truly neighbour startling sound. Am enjoying the relative quiet for the moment. At least my neighbours are but will probably start tinkering soon enough. :D
