Strange to see that whilst we constantly complain of BMW prices the majority (and I know it's a very small sample) prefer to take their car to a BMW dealer at £54......

Thanks for the replys guys

Still as confused as before though... ha ha! I think its a toss up between the Indy that Rudd recommended or the local stealer. Not taken the car to the dealer for anything since I bought it and will probably take it there for its service when due to keep the service history... turns out I know a lad who is a salesman there as well so might try and hound him for the £40 deal!

Cheers again

Ali

For older cars where MOT pass/fail is boarder line, i would say council place as they are least likley to WANT to fail you on anything (but remain safe at the same time and legal).

For newer cars and those in warranty, i would say the dealer - as its not that much more, they valet the car (if you want it) and IF there is anything wrong under warranty - it gets sorted (i.e. spring)

Cheers

Check its the dealer that does it and it's not sent to a local MOT station (which may well charge only £30....)

Got mine done a couple of weeks ago at National Tyres in Ayr, the tester was very pleasant and quite happy for me to hang around whilst he did it, £40.00 why pay more?.

For the last ten years i've used The Auto Centre in Darlington and the GF has used him longer than that, had the MOT done there last month and while it was in he fitted a Z/hausen CDV(Thanks to 2dogs for the CDV) and just charged me for the MOT.Carl is a real nice guy and doesn't rip you off so we have recomended him to friends and they have been well impressed with is service.
