MOT test today......really annoyed.

phoned the boss today and told him how annoyed i was , he appologised profusely and said they did do that sometimes to get the cats hot for the emissions as some are hard to get through the test. but that the mech shouldnt have taken mine out as it had driven 35 mins to the test station and was hot already, I told him he just wanted to drive the car and had he asked I would have refused or at least gone with him if it needed a road test. I will talk to the person he said he made jump as I know him, if he confirms he ragged my M then I will be back there again. still very annoyed , with myself for not querying where the f**k he thought he was going with my M :headbang:

With respect to your son the MOT tester's manual is clear 3.7b(1) and requires the use of a brake decelerometer on a road when the tester is of the opinion that roller testing is not appropriate because of the transmission type. If you read it carefully it gives the tester discretion depending on the test equipment, vehicle type and makers recommendations. So not ALL perm 4WD or LSD cars will be tested the same at different MOT stations, or even by different testers.

The real issue is the tester not discussing this with the customer.

..... which has got nothing to with testers rule 3.7b(1) I was blabbing on about, so goon's suggestion seems quite reasonable given this guy was *hagging another man's ///M
 
have since spoken on the phone to the other garage owner whom i know, this is the one that the mech said he made jump as he went by, I asked him if he saw my z4m the previous day pass his garage, he confirmed that if it was a black one then yes he had, I then asked him if it was being driven erratically, he declined to comment , I then explained the situation, who was driving etc and why I was annoyed , I said I wouldnt mention his name and that by declining to comment he had told me all I needed to know, he replied yes please dont , but again confirmed that he was ragging it. afetr speaking earlier to the owner and receiving his appologies I was prepared to leave it at that , but now hearing that he was indeed abusing a 17k customers vehicle I am even more outraged , I feel like stopping the cheque but that will affect the owner, i feel at the very least the mech should pay the fifty pound test fee and give me a written appology. it took me a long time to get used to changing 1st to 2nd in the m withour crashing and crunching , the fact that he commented on it tells me he was struggling and crashing my gears !! what would you do now , I have been in a foul mood all day and feel almost violated, mrs mad4says its just a car !!! :headbang: That helped alot too....NOT. I hate violence and would only resort to it if attacked or defending someone, But I really feel he deserves a Fucking kick in the Bollocks :thumbsdown:
 
Mate it's bang out of order don't feel sh1t got feeling down! I feel like rounding up a few burly members and paying this obvious d1ck head a visit. Truth of the matter your car is ok just try and and relax.

I would defiantly not be paying for the MOT and I would be asking for all involved to be facing a disciplinary or you taking them to court.

Cant really see why the LSD would stop you from using the rollers though.

If you have an intravee fitted mad4 it might be worth downloading the journal as this records some useful information that might help your case. Download quick though as it only stores a dozen or so startups.

Absolutely shocking, bang out of order, I was in Manchester the other week and 2 Vauxhalls were driving very erratically, changing lanes, right up the arses of cars they came up to, speeding in a 40 mph limit, then they both went in the right hand lane to turn, as I went past they were 2 youngsters with high vis jackets on, obviously moving the cars from one place to another, no respect :thumbsdown: :headbang:
 
Service intervals are dependant upon how hard or soft the car is driven ,if he has ragged the car get them to pay for a service .
 
their is no way in a million years that i would allow this.... infact id have had a proper fight over this..... and no im not joking. but to be fair, i sit and watch the MOT and youd be amazed how different they treat your car!! anyone even attempts to drive it out that place id tell to get the f**k out the drivers seat before i give you a slap.
imo if its your Pride and joy, sit and watch!!

unbelievable...

sounds totally out of order. Doesn't matter about the it affecting the owner, I'd complain to the MOT regulators etc. At the end of the day the owner employs the mechanic - therefore any complaints are to do with the garage...

mother fucker........ as the m diff is variable im pretty certain the very low speed brake roller test would never damage it.... my car has been on the brake test machine every year and i cant lie... i have no issue with it....
 
Man that testing you guys have to go through over there is brutal! Here in Arizona, my car gets a smog test every 2 years - sniffer in the tailpipe and a quick visual, and a gas cap pressure test. You're out of there in 5 minutes. NO further testing whatsoever. MOT seems like gross overkill. You'd be better served giving more rigorous testing to drivers. We all would be, driver training & license testing is a joke over here in most states.

As for this joker taking the OP's car for a joy ride and obviously beating the living crap out of it - he should be fired, immediately. You should be outraged and should complain loudly to the owner of the garage and demand he do something about it. Shameful.

No testing whatsoever in Alberta for either emissions or safety, unless a car arrives from a different province or country. Unfortunately you do sometimes see cars at the side of the road with collapsed suspensions or brake discs that have worn all the way down to the cooling fins and there are plenty of vehicles that leave blue smoke in their wake, as some people do no maintenance at all until components fail.

It is also only about £50 per year for road tax (actually a sticker on the number plate), no matter what type of car.
 
phoned the garage owner today to tell him that ihad spoken with the other garage owner who saw the mechanic abusing my car and that I was furious and not going to let it drop. he again appologised profusely and offered me a free mot on any vehicle i take there, i explained that it was not the money but the lack of respect regarding my car. not much more \i can do now other than when \i go in there next he will have a serious bollocking from me I will also ask for the keys to his car for a twenty minute "test drive", then he might understand how I feel ! (bet he wont give them to me though)
 
Ask for your MOT fee back..

Then go elsewhere next year.....

Thats probably as much as you can do,unless you want to complain to the ministry..
 
Firstly, you're absolutely right to be p*ssed off. Any garage worth dealing with wouldn't allow it to happen, obviously not the first excursion that guy's been on. :x

Unfortunately not a lot you can do, unless you want to get wrapped up in anything legal which isn't worth the hassle. You might find they could duck out of it anyway with the rules quoted.

Demand your money back from the boss, and let them know you won't be going back. If he has any answer other than giving you a full refund, tell him you'll file a report with the MOT licensing guys and trading standards. He'd be an idiot to let one job affect his future business and he's clearly admitted fault.
