MOT & Tax question...

Hi All,

The tax on my zed is up at the end of February, so I've looked for my MOT certificate, and can't find it anywhere. No problem - get a replacement from a test centre. Well, the problem is, I bought the car in Scotland, and live in Northern Ireland, the V5C has been moved over in my name and it's registered here now too. I obviously can't pop in to a test centre in Scotland and get an MOT certificate.

I'm wondering if DVLNI will have a problem in supplying my car with a test certificate? I really don't know what I'm supposed to do in this case - DVLNI will have no record of my car having ever been MOT'd. From what I've read online, you have to turn up in person to get a replacement MOT cert? Can anyone shed light on this? I have until the 28th to get a new cert otherwise my zed is out of action!

Can't you do the tax online - they store the MOT details so you wouldn't need a hard copy
 
Don't think so...tried that, vehicle can't be found or there is some kind of problem. Think it's because it has been moved over to NI's system.

How annoying!

Problem solved - Rang DVLNI and they have access to the national MOT database, so I can get my car taxed without physically having an MOT cert :) Zedding will go un-interrupted!
