MOT No 12

It was the 12th MOT for the Z3 yesterday 8th in my ownership and passed but with an advisory for corroded brake pipes.

I did smile when I collected the Zed as the same garage mentioned the brake pipes at the last MOT and said it would be a fail, so I gave them the go ahead to get the pipes replaced. I received a call later in the day to say they looked at the pipes again and realised they were coated in a thick brown wax which I've used to plaster the underside of the car so they passed the MOT

Looks like they discovered the wax again this year but I don't think BMW dealers these days are used to seeing cars rustproofed :) I guess a thing of the past when you owned a BL or Triumph :) Thing is I will need to check them now to make doubly sure.

A couple I took at 6.30am this morning.

With so little use over the years the z is wasted ,you need to pass it on to some one like myself who will more use of it.
How often due you change the tyres ? ,with the mileage being so low cracking is likely to be a factor rather than wear.

Thanks guys,

Wasted? hmmmmm the less you use it, when you do the more you savour, I reckon if I'd racked up the use I wouldn't have it today :)

Nice bit of defensive parking there.

You must be keen for a good photo to get to the multi-storey for 06.30 though.

Unfortunately its the time I start work but at least it means I can knock off by 3 :)

Zed threw a wobbly this morning after I parked up and locked the car as the hazards kept going off, luckily I can lock it manually via the key which seem to stop the problem. Last night I did drive through a torrential rain storm so was wandering if water had got into the electrics but have narrowed it down to the bonnet alarm switch which I've reconnected and seems to have sorted it for now.

The z does look a bit special with the Red roof and those wheels.

Thanks Maxman,

Pic with original hood and AC Schnitzer alloys and spacers,

The zed was never happy on those wheels or might have been the tyres as it tramlined alot so swapped the wheels out for a narrower width which banished the tramlining. The Schnitzers cost me 2K :o the current alloys were 400 quid  and prefer them to be honest.
