MOT early before AUW ends?

My Approved Used Warranty ends on 28th Februray 2013, but my MOT isn't due until early April 2013.

I know of a great local MOT place (inspection only / no repairs). I'm considering taking my car for an early MOT mid-February. If there was any work required, I'd take it to the BMW dealer to have it repaired under warranty.

Does this seem like a good plan? Are there any loopholes I'm missing?

The BMW website says:
"The following are not covered by the BMW Approved Used Car Warranty: brake and clutch facings, discs and drums, bulbs (except Xenon), fuses, channels and guides, weather strips and seals, handles, hinges and check straps, trim upholstery, and cosmetic finishes, wheels and tyres, wipers blades and arms, glass, auxiliary drive belts, coolant and fuel hoses, the cleaning and adjustment of any component and all service items or items that will require periodic replacement. Corrosion is also not covered by the warranty."

Presumably, if the car fails for anything else - I can just take it to the dealer as a defect? With the masses of nasty potholes, I'm most worried about cracked alloys and suspension damage.

I'm having a pre warranty expiration check, it's like an all round check, they charge £40. Or for a full comprehensive check, they do an AUC check, same thing as if the car was going for sale, where they check everything. And from this everything can be addressed, where applicable, to warranty. They charge £220 for this.

My ignition coil went today, and whist thy were at it, I asked them to look at my rear lights, and only very small condensation, and they have agreed to replace them

With the ignition coil, hey changed my plugs too...
