MOT day...

Good luck.

If you're sweating spare a thought. Today is my last day to finish my comp jeep restoration before mot next Friday. 10 years on mud and rocks wore out everything below the chassis.

Virtually nothing has not been changed over the winter from disks, caliper brake pipes, whelel bearings,. Rebuilt axles, lockers, electrical system, race harness changes. Relocation of batteries and split charge system.
That's without all the ancill changes, fluids,, rad out, new starter, lights, etc.

1 in 10 chance of a first time pass

Jeez, mines a breeze compared to that! Very best of luck :)

Would love some pics as well - fan of CJs here :driving:

I don't think we've had an MOT failure on a Z4, from the threads I've read. Hopefully it'll breeze through.

Just got the call. Sailed through

Sadly my mechanic says he doesn't have the tool to pull the RTA bushes though, so they won't get done today :(

Its a great feeling when they say "all's fine".
Mine passed the other day with NO advisories.

Well done, it's always a great relief isn't it?

It certainly is!
Straight pass, no advisories :D but only 1,680 miles since last year's MOT :?

Must get out more :driving:

Ha, why were you sweating on that yearly mileage

Perhaps I should update on the Jeep MOT. Well it failed, but I'm delighted considering that it's been off-roaded for over a decade and been on SORN and trailered for the last 5 years since its last MOT.

It needs pedal rubbers and a the rear fog light being full of mud. (my stupid mistake as I checked all the lights and forgot that one) and one floating axle bearing tightening which I've done this afternoon.
All that remains to do is a new lower ball joint that's on order.

Goes back middle of next week for a retest when the ball joint's fitted.

Well pleased ...

I think z4's only ever fail for broken rear springs

It's certainly a weak point, the on-line MOT history for mine shows it failed for broken springs at it's first MOT on 15k miles! :o

But just passed with no advisories, not even the stupid "undertrays fitted" nonsense this time :D
