E89s should generally have a better ride on MOTs than E85/E86….newer..better corrosion resistance..

Surprising number of worn inner tyres due to camber related wear..the odd adaptive leaking dampers seem to be the most common advisories / fails..
 
My car passed today. No.11.
Advisory oil leak, but not said where.
I assume the very slight mist around heat exchange, usual place.

My wife always says I look both elated and crestfallen if the zeds go straight through.
On the one hand, I’m not losing my touch, but on the other hand I have no work to do to get me out of shopping, dog walking etc.
 
When our cars get through without anything wrong I always think that they haven't checked it over properly.
 
Mine got its first advisory since 2019 last time out - for rear tyres that I remain convinced had at least 3-4mm left. Nowhere near the legal limit.
 
It's always a relief when you get a clean pass!

My Z4 hasn't had any advisories since I got it in 2019, but I got 2 daft ones on my 3 Series for undertrays being fitted. Why do they do that? :headbang:
 
No mot surprises is always a comfort. Advisories give us a year of work at the weekends.
Got my first zed mot to look forward to in Feb. Not sweating.....honestly
 
Anyone near Stourbridge Protyre £20 mot. Not sure if offer still on.
Last year £40 over the road at Halfords, even though i signed up for £5 off, which didn't get.
 
It was a broken rear spring last year, this year I'm going to jack the car up and take the wheels off to check. I had to wait 2 weeks for them to fit it in to have them done :thumbsdown:

I had a very bad experience with Halfords on my van a few years ago. They seemed to find all sorts of stuff that needed doing to the brakes and wheel bearings. Just don't know. Cheap MOT. Hmmmmm, be careful.

Tbh we don’t have dogs or cats. We have the third species: dachshunds!
