MOT advisory

Advise please! I had MOT done it passed with a note that says suspension arm has slight play in pin/bush both sides.
The cost is £60 per hour labor plus parts all in £300 from a local garage, does it sound ok?

Thanks

Both front arms are about £180 on ebay. Would expect a garage to be able to swap them in an hour. So not a bad price if they are replacing the rear bushings too.
It will always be cheaper to diy just depends if you can. Took me a couple of hours and much persuasion from a sledgehammer. If you diy then replace drop links and arb bushings at the same time.

I think he means the bushing at the rear of the front arms not the rear of the car

I was indeed referring to the brake reaction bushings. £300 fitted for new arms AND those bushings is about fair, if it's just the arms you're paying approx. 2 hours which is double what I expect it to take a garage.
It doesn't sound like you're in a position to DIY so if you want it done then you'll have to suck it up. Equally it's only slight play so could wait, you may find a local member who could help you out.

Should be pretty easy on a ramp. Have a look on ebay for the arms and brake reaction bushings, £180 or so. While you're there you might as well do the ARB bushings and drop links. If you've not had it aligned recently track rods will be worth a look too.

I've got mine booked in for the exact same thing in two weeks. It's only my passenger side that's needs doing though. Is it worth doing both sides?
