interesting...

361hp and 381ft/lb torque...not bad but it's still a pontiac :( Hope this does better than the GTO. The GTO was a great, powerful musclecar reincarnation that looked...well...just like any other pontiac

The GTO was an American(ized) Australian Monaro. It was a boring hella fast car with no trunk room (see relocated fuel tank due to US DOT rules) that had no style whatsoever. It wasn't worthy of the GTO plaque.

Hmm, that link has rather a lot of music on there ... careful in the office

Somebody has this car where I work and I see it in the garage almost every day. I personally think it's ugly as hell and I grimace every time I see it. The front scoops with the front grills is just way too much. It looks like somebody took the hood off of another car and stuck it on a Pontiac Grand Prix. Blah!

wow, thats nuts ... 6.0 litre engine ... sorry, but i cant afford the fuel for that thing!!! :!:

but yah, thats a lot of hp for $30k

I must admit that American cars are getting better, but the quality and craftsmanship of the interiors still are lightyears behind the foreign cars, whether Japanese or German. I've driven a few American muscle cars in the past, but while they are fast, the ride comfort was only mediocre and there were always a lot of squeeks and rattles.

With regards to Pontiac, I don't think you'll get much positive response or interest on this Z forum. Months back, someone had a brilliant idea of posting a topic comparing the Solstice to our beloved Z4. While the styling of the Solstice is sleek, any comparison to the Z is laughable IMO.

Maybe it's because I have been driving rental G6 for the last two years in Florida but I grew to dislike the G6 tremendously and I find nothing appealing in the G8. :x Yes, that's alot of HP for 30K but that does nothing for me. Btw, the music on that link really woke me up. :zzzz:

My last car was a monte carlo. The motor rattled when at idle like it was going to throw a rod. Gm said that was a built in "tolerance" and it was fine. No more "tolerance" for me ever again. Oh yeah and in clunked going into turns, they told me they could grease the intermediate steering shaft and it would go away for 6 months. They build crap in my first hand opinion.
