Most Accurate Video Review

So...

Having placed an order for an Alpine White / Coral Red 28i (without going on a test drive - long story) at the beginning of June my car has now arrived at the dealership.

However I can't pick it up because I'll need to start paying for it and I currently have a company lease vehicle (A4 2.0tdie 136) that's not due to be returned until the end of August.

As you can imagine I'm suffering badly from the jitters.

I've watched every single video review I could find, including the Slovakian one (well I think it's Slovakian, I need to brush up on my Slavic languages).

So what I'd like to know - what would you say is the (video) review that you feel most accurately represents your view and experience of the E89?

Nope unfortunately not. I even need to get the bleeding thing serviced before returning :/ still it has served me well. I'm going to miss the 50 mpg I suspect (and the parking sensors, 10 speaker + subwoofer sound system and auto opening boot).

Still....35-40 mpg, 5.5 0-60, open top and xenons make up for it :)

What about a visit to a some local dealerships and taking a few "test" drives to help ease the pain until you can get
your hands on the 2.8 :driving:

Pros
Fairly rare
Turns heads
Looks fab
Sounds fab

Cons
Cracked alloy potential with 19s
Roof sensors can be unreliable
Low driving position and long bonnet doesn't make for an engaging drive like say a Golf GTI. More of a poseurs car than an out and out driver's car
Seats aren't the most comfortable I've ever sat in

Hmm that might be a thought - would feel a bit naughty tho...

My "review" after half a year of ownership:

Pros
- looks fab
- sounds good, to me as passed the age of 40 I think it sounds well, not too loud and "disturbing" to people, but enough to turn heads when rushing it a bit, a nice growling and popping sound.
- build quality, no rattles etc for me, not yet anyway
- 28i has decent performance, sure you can achieve a second or a fraction of it 0-60 with 35i or some other BMW M models, but combined with quite good fuel economy I think 28i does it well. Of course, if money wasn´t a factor at all - I´d go for 35i or 35is.
- good winter handling
- love the the interior and the sport seats allow long journeys as well as feeling tight and sporty
- steering wheel heat, didn´t think I would appreciate it that much!
- the auto gear box, smooth and discreet in comfort mode, a "beast" that adds speed at every shift in sport mode!

Cons
None so far really, but
- as any car, fuel consumption is above manufacture' s figures, but I get 35-40 mpg so no big deal
- produces more brake dust on the wheels than I've seen on my other cars, 325M easy to clean however
