Morning

Hi All,

I'm coming back into the fold! I was around years ago on the old z4um, zroadster, zcars and here with a e85 3.0 and z4m. I recognize some of the usernames but my memory is so awful, but I think I've met some of you long termers :)

Know nothing about these newer models so catching up quickly on what's hot and not.

Hopefully I'll find the right one soon and get it ready for summer fun times! I'm looking for a 28i auto if anyone's selling :)

Welcome! its all about budget, and what sort of thing you want... there are many different versions and trim levels, and prices..

Welcome back aboard. Why not simply buy another E85/86. Less complicated cars.

Welcome back Andy

Hot sausage rings a bell. Think I attended one of you runs back in 2008 with Flimper, sixspeed and a few other on here.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. Yeah, I was pop_sausage back then; I couldn't get back into that account. I used to do dawn raids around Surrey/Sussex down to Goodwood breakfast club meets and organised the Dunsfold track meet which was a nightmare never to be repeated! I think we had over 100 cars that day. Best trips ever with the club were PVR's East Germany one, DavidM's Mid Wales and Roader's Highlanders - good times.

I'm probably going to take a gamble on an auction car and bank the savings on doing what needs to be done. I do mega miles per year so would look to flip in 18 months before the mileage get astronomical. (I think) A 28i for decent turn of speed and fuel economy over the 35i DCT (which is really what the heart wants). The 8Speed auto in the 2L engine preferable of over the 3.0L 6cog (I think?!?). Done 2 e85s, a lemon of 3.0L ('03 launch spec - a catalogue of everyone known fault and rattle which I fixed up) and a beautiful Imola/Champagne Z4M that I think will be the nicest car I'll ever own.

Looking forward to getting stuck into forum and event life again :driving:
